The first episode of Album 71 is releasing on the Adventures in Odyssey club in a few days. I’m going to discuss my expectations of the episodes before they begin to release, just like I did for Album 70.
Emily wrestles with the decision of whether or not to trust the Rydells after all they’ve done to her. Meanwhile, Morrie and Suzu get settled into Whit’s house and develop a team of good-doers.My Speculation
We know from a Q&A podcast that this episode picks up right where Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off left off. I hypothesize that Emily will, at least at first, refuse to join Suzu’s team. We don’t know much about this episode as of yet, but I think it’ll probably be one of the episodes in this album with the theme of friendship as written on the front cover. It will most likely continue the Rydell Saga storyline and probably once more portray the actions of the Rydells and Whit in past episodes such as Further from the Truth as goood.
Please Adjust Your Frequency
All that I know about Please Adjust Your Frequency is that it has a theme of pride. I really don’t have any predictions about this episode as we don’t know much about it at all. Perhaps KYDS Radio will be involved.
Higher Than Our Ways
In fulfillment of Wilson’s prediction, Emily falls and is injured on a ski slope. My Speculation
As you might be able to tell from my speculative episode description, I believe Higher Than Our Ways to be the episode that is featured on the cover art of the album. It seems to be the episode that would best fit with that cover art (it could also be Please Adjust Your Frequency). The “Higher” in the title could be a pun, referencing the skiing mountain/ski lift. Because I thought that the fulfillment of Wilson’s The Christmas Bells premonition would be in this album I decided to guess that it could be in this episode. That guess was based on the fact that the title lends itself to be a title for an episode in which someone will “fall”. It could be that Emily literally falls as well as struggling spiritually or emotionally with the aftermath of The Team and the Rydell Saga in general.
One more thing, a note on the album art, I really hope that the person going down the ski lift in the art is a plot point in the episode. If not, it is a little bit weird to have someone going down the ski lift in the art.
Again, next to nothing is known about this episode. The obvious prediction that I can make is that it will feature a triple-decker sundae. The episode will most likely take place at least partially in Whit’s End as Whit’s End is an ice cream shoppe.
Set a Watchman
Upon hearing the title of the episode, I immediately wonder if it has something to do with Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman. Both To Kill a Mockingbird and the recent sequel, Go Set a Watchman are not in the public domain. This would most likely rule out the possibility that the episode is a dramatized version of one of those books. It could be that the book Go Set a Watchman is mentioned or plays some role in the episode, therefore giving the episode its similar name. Whit’s End has a pretty big library and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if To Kill a Mockingbird was in that library. It is also possible that the episode mirrors the story of Lee’s novel.
Of course, it could just be a coincidence that the name of the episode is one word different from the title of a pre-existing novel. It is also worth noting that I have only read the first book, To Kill a Mockingbird, and don’t know much about Go Set a Watchman other than someone telling me that it wasn’t as good as To Kill a Mockingbird. I have not read Go Set a Watchman.
For this episode I wrote out my thought process that lead to the speculative description, so I’ll put the blurb after my other predictions and thoughts.
In a trip to the Whit’s End library, Whit tells a story about the life of Harper Lee.My Speculation
We know from the Official Podcast that this episode will be a Bible story. I hope that it is an Imagination Station episode, but I lean towards thinking that the Bible story is told in a different way. Since the AIO Wiki tells us that it is the story of Jesus healing a blind man, the Bible story part of the episode will probably be only a very short portion of the episode. The rest of the episode will probably be some Bible study about the passage or real-life situations that are in some way connected to the story. I will also note that the episode happens to have the exact same title as a 2013 release by the Ceiling Fan podcast team.
